Group Classes

Group Classes is another generic term used to cover a multitude of activities, undertaken with a number of other people, including:

  • Circuits

  • Spinning

  • Exercise to Music

  • Aqua Aerobics

  • Yoga

  • Pilates

  • Weights Circuit

  • Walking

Different forms of class offer different health & fitness benefits ranging from cardiovascular and strength to flexibility.  Group Classes also offer the benefits of the social aspect of exercising with other people as well as the motivation that their presence provides.

Possibly one of the most versatile forms of group exercise is the Circuit class.  This may be tailored to the requirements of those attending whether that be a general mix of all-round cardiovascular with muscular strength & endurance exercises;  a class specifically aimed at skiers preparing for the new season; a strength and flexibility class designed for older adults or a class exclusively for cardiac rehabilitation patients.

Classes can be run in various locations from the typical leisure centre class to the less formal community centre based class or even outside.
